Sea Dog Cantina Opens in Clearwater with Blast of Flavor!

[CLEARWATER, FL]  Creativity is the main focus as a Sea Dog Cantina Restaurant and Tequila Bar opens their second location in Clearwater at the 26200 US 19 location. 

This amazing physical transformation is matched by its innovation of flavors, tequila, and top crew. Sea Dog Brewing Marketing Manager and Designer, Robert Cochran created decor you must see and experience! 

Outside, you’ll find:

  • Brand new beer garden with green space for dining, games, and live music in the back

As for the food and drink, an impressive culinary team is uniting to kick off the new location starting with national renowned head chef, Chef Greg Picard. “This will be our flagship location with the hopes of many more to follow,” says Picard. “I’ll be teaming up with my long-time colleagues including world-famous pastry Chef Ramon Ramos from Mexico and some passionate, talented young chefs: Chef Ray Vega, Chef Jose Trouche, and Chef Adrian Colon (“The Three Amigos!”) to run the day to day operations. I could not be more excited to reunite with such passionate, talented young chefs.”  Before joining the Cantina Family, “The Three Amigos” worked in 4 and 5-star hotels under the mentorship of Chef Picard and Chef Ramos.

The Sea Dog Cantina Culinary team visits and leads cooking and cultural tours in Mexico. The team favors traditional Mexican, Mayan, and Aztecan ingredients native to Mexico like chocolate, peppers, and vanilla bean. Their inspired cuisine showcases intense and varied flavors like spicy chiles, cilantro, cumin, and oregano. chocolate and vanilla are also favorites.

National Sea Dog Brewing Manager and Military Veteran, Bert Follero, Sea Dog Brewing Area Supervisor Jamey McMullen, and Sea Dog Local Event Coordinator, Sue Lagree round out the team for an amazing opening. 

“I’m so proud of our family team and am excited about the amazing creativity of the Mexican-inspired cuisine we are developing here as well as the handcrafted margaritas. We hope guests will also get some hot sauces and spices to take home!”, says Fred Forsley, of Portland, Maine, and St. Pete, Florida, “With merchandise, a to-go window, and the upcoming pairing events, we hope to have something for everyone.” This is a Forsley Family and Sea Dog Family-run business.

The ribbon-cutting celebration takes place on their first Taco Tuesday, April 6th from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. There will be a blood drive on-site that evening where donors will receive a t-shirt and a voucher for a free beer. The public is welcome to attend.
